The difference between foam rubber panels with fire resistance of B1 and B2
B1 and B2 rubber foam boards have many similarities and many differences. The similarities are that they both have excellent insulation capacity and other advantages. There is no special difference in insulation capacity between B1 and B2 rubber foam boards, and they can basically meet the requirements of thermal conductivity less than 0.032W/m·k. There is no particular difference in moisture resistance, seismic resistance, sound insulation, etc. There is no difference in the environmental protection of the material and whether toxic and harmful gases will be released.
It can be said that the performance of B1-grade rubber foam board and B2-grade rubber foam board is basically the same except for fire resistance, and there is not much difference.
So what is the difference between B1-grade rubber foam board and B2-grade rubber foam board, that is, what is the difference in fire resistance? The difference in fire resistance between B1-grade rrubber foam board and B2-grade rubber foam board is mainly in the difference in oxygen index. As the smoke density requirement in combustion performance, the requirements for B1-grade rubber foam board and B2-grade rubber foam board are less than or equal to 75. So we will not introduce too much about smoke density, but focus on the difference between B1-grade rubber foam board and B2-grade rubber foam board-oxygen index.
The oxygen index is a standard for measuring the oxygen required for material combustion, that is, the minimum oxygen concentration that can allow the material to continue to burn. So when the oxygen concentration is lower than the oxygen index, the material cannot burn. So the higher the oxygen index, the better the fire resistance of the material.
The oxygen index requirement for B1-grade rubber foam board is greater than 32, while the requirement for B2-grade rubber foam board is greater than 26. Therefore, through the oxygen index, we can see the difference in fire resistance between B1-grade rubber foam board and B2-grade rubber foam board, that is, the fire resistance of B1-grade rubber foam board is better than that of B2-grade rubber foam board.
Therefore, when purchasing rubber foam board, we can make the purchase according to our needs. When we do not need better fire resistance, we can buy B2-grade rubber foam board, which is cheap and has similar performance to B1-grade rubber foam board.
