Industrial Sector: Meeting Diverse Needs with High-Efficiency Thermal Insulation
Calcium silicate materials are also gaining traction in industrial thermal management scenarios due to their excellent insulation efficiency and temperature stability. Compared to traditional insulation materials like polystyrene foam and mineral wool commonly used in China, xonotlite-type calcium silicate insulation materials boast a thermal conductivity as low as ≤0.045 W/(m·K), along with sound absorption and noise reduction capabilities. They remain stable within a temperature range of -50°C to 600°C, making them ideal for insulating high-temperature kilns and thermal equipment in industries such as metallurgy, chemicals, and petrochemicals. In a technical renovation project by a large petrochemical enterprise, replacing traditional mineral wool insulation with calcium silicate materials reduced equipment heat loss by 35%, saving over RMB 2 million in annual energy costs. In low-temperature cold storage pipeline insulation for the food processing industry, the low thermal conductivity and moisture resistance of calcium silicate materials effectively prevented pipeline condensation, increasing refrigeration efficiency by 12%. These examples highlight the "universal advantages" of calcium silicate materials in industrial applications. Their market share in industrial insulation has risen from 8% in 2023 to 15% in 2025.
