In a wet area, the failure mode is rarely the surface — it is water travelling through the body and reaching the adhesive or the substrate. This low water absorption marble-pattern ceramic panel is sintered to a 0.6% volumetric absorption, so the body itself is close to impermeable and the marble surface stays stable.
The 30 mm panel is finished with a penetrating sealer that reaches Level 5 stain resistance, and it resists chlorine, salt spray and the cleaning agents used around pools. Because the vein is fired in, aggressive cleaning does not wear the pattern away as it does on a printed or coated board.
- Class A1 Fire Performance: Non-combustible from surface to core to GB 8624, with no dripping, no heavy smoke and no toxic gas release — ideal for pool, spa, shower and coastal facades exposed to permanent moisture.
- Fired-in Marble Pattern: The wet-area marble vein is generated in the body at 1200°C, so it does not peel, chalk or fade like a printed or coated surface.
- Low Dead Load: About 7.5 kg/m² at 30 mm — roughly one quarter of a 30 mm marble slab — which keeps anchors, keel steel and crane time down.
- Stable Colour Lot to Lot: A fixed pigment recipe and firing curve hold the wet-area marble vein inside the approved tolerance on repeat orders.
- Weather and Pollution Resistance: Closed cells and a sintered skin resist water penetration, 25 freeze-thaw cycles and urban staining; cleaning needs water, not chemical stone restorers.
- Chlorine and Salt Spray Resistant: The sintered body and sealed surface resist pool chlorine and coastal salt spray without chalking, blistering or colour change.

Use stainless 316 anchors and a waterproof sealant in all joints. Keep a 5 mm joint in wet areas and a drained cavity behind the panel where the substrate is not tanked.
The low water absorption glazed ceramic insulation panel 0.6% wet area facade is supplied on plywood pallets with PE film, corner protection and edge guards — about 1.2 tons per pallet — loaded into 20ft or 40ft containers with fumigation-free packing. Store under cover, keep pallets level and avoid point loads on the decorated face. Special sizes, corner pieces and window returns can be produced to drawing.
Yes. The 0.6% absorption body and sealed surface are specified for pool halls; we supply the fixing and sealing detail for chlorine exposure.
A penetrating sealer is factory applied; on pool walls we recommend a maintenance coat every 3–5 years depending on the cleaning regime.
For submerged areas we supply a fully tanked detail with epoxy grout and a different anchor pattern; send the pool section for review.
