MYREAL calcium silicate pipe sections are pre-formed from inorganic siliceous and calcareous materials through a high temperature, high pressure hydrothermal reaction. The rigid section keeps a constant wall thickness on high temperature piping up to 650 C, and its low chloride ion content protects stainless steel lines from chloride stress corrosion cracking.
Technical Data
Application
Supplied as half-rounds for steam, condensate, hot oil and process piping in petroleum refining, chemical plants and city heat supply networks.
- High temperature steam and condensate piping
- Stainless steel process lines sensitive to chloride stress corrosion
- Hot oil and heat transfer fluid piping
- City heat supply network distribution pipes
- Vertical risers where soft insulation would sag
Key Advantages
- Low chloride ion content, safe for stainless steel and alloy pipework.
- Rigid pre-formed section holds a uniform thickness around the pipe.
- Service temperature up to 650 C with linear shrinkage within 2%.
- Compressive strength from 0.40 MPa (MY170) to 0.65 MPa (MY220).
- Pre-formed half-rounds fit quickly on new build and retrofit lines.
Standards and Compliance
- Manufactured to GB/T 5486 calcium silicate products standard under an ISO 9001 certified quality system
- GB/T 8624 Class A1 non-combustible, no flame spread and no dense smoke
- Low chloride ion content protects stainless steel and alloy pipework from chloride stress corrosion
- Low water absorption, performance is not affected by humidity
- Free of formaldehyde, benzene and other harmful substances
- Special shaped parts can be customized to your drawing
Installation Notes
- Fit half-rounds around the pipe with joints staggered between layers.
- Secure with stainless steel bands at 300 mm centres on vertical runs.
- Leave the designed expansion gap between successive sections.
- Finish with aluminum cladding for weather protection outdoors.
