MYREAL calcium silicate curved segments are cut from MY170 board to the radius of your vessel, tank or large header, so the insulation follows the shell without gaps or faceting. At 0.081 W/(m.K) at 300 C the MY170 grade gives the lowest conductivity in the range, which keeps the insulation thin where clearance is limited, and the segment stays rigid up to 650 C.
Technical Data
Application
Used on curved surfaces where a flat board would need faceting and where the available thickness is fixed by clearance or by an existing cladding.
- Tank and vessel shell insulation
- Vessel head and dished end segments
- Large diameter duct and header insulation
- Heat loss control where insulation thickness is limited
- Retrofit of existing insulated vessels without changing the cladding
Key Advantages
- Cut to your radius, so the segment sits flat on the shell with no faceting gaps.
- 0.081 W/(m.K) at 300 C is the lowest conductivity grade in the calcium silicate range.
- 170 kg/m3 keeps the segment light enough to handle in one piece.
- Rigid form holds thickness on vertical and curved surfaces without sagging.
- Class A1 non-combustible, suitable for hot work areas.
Standards and Compliance
- Manufactured to GB/T 5486 calcium silicate products standard under an ISO 9001 certified quality system
- GB/T 8624 Class A1 non-combustible, no flame spread and no dense smoke
- Super low chloride ion content protects stainless steel and alloy pipework from chloride stress corrosion
- Low water absorption, performance is not affected by humidity
- Free of formaldehyde, benzene and other harmful substances
Installation Notes
- Dry fit the segment on the shell to confirm the radius before fixing.
- Stagger the segment joints between layers and against the shell seams.
- Secure with stainless steel bands or studs at the designed spacing.
- Leave the designed expansion gap between segments.
- Finish with aluminum or stainless cladding where weather or washdown applies.
